About the Exhibition
Nevada Proscenium presents a new body of large scale geometric abstraction paintings by Amadour that engage Nevada’s architectural, geological, and cultural histories. Drawing from the state’s mining legacy, desert topographies, and vanished structures, the exhibition frames Nevada as both stage and memory site.
Through layered surfaces, architectural motifs, and luminous fields of color, Amadour reimagines the landscape as a theatrical space, a proscenium through which histories of extraction, migration, spectacle, and reinvention unfold. The works bridge abstraction and place based research, continuing the artist’s ongoing investigation into regional identity, disappearance, and renewal.
Presented at TMCC’s Main Gallery on the Dandini Campus, the exhibition marks a significant homecoming for the Reno born artist and expands their commitment to situating contemporary abstraction within the cultural history of the American West.
