AMADOUR

AMADOUR builds cinematic worlds through voice, piano, and strings — forging music that is as timeless as it is personal — orchestral pop that soothes the heart, and heals the land.

Biography

Amadour is a singer/songwriter, pianist, and visual artist. A solo performer, their style channels a wide range of influences into a distinctive voice-and-piano sound. With echoes of Queen, Dalida, Frank Sinatra, and the golden age of 60s–70s pop, Amadour’s instrumentation is rich and evocative. Their songwriting draws from the lyrical and emotional traditions of Leonard Cohen, Rufus Wainwright, Sufjan Stevens, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Adele—balancing poetic intimacy with orchestral warmth and cinematic soul. They also stand in the lineage of artist-performers like Laurie Anderson, Björk, and David Bowie, merging sonic storytelling with visual and conceptual worlds.

With lyrics that unfold like scenes from a forgotten love story, Amadour explores themes of romantic devotion, the ache of grief, and self-actualization with the emotional charge of a James Horner orchestra. Born in Sparks, Nevada, they compose spacious, cinematic soundscapes that echo the vast, quiet drama of the desert—a place suspended between memory and dream. Through sweeping piano lines and a voice both fragile and commanding, Amadour traces the delicate contours of love and longing in a digital age, searching for belonging, forgiveness, and the courage to come home.

Currently, Amadour is developing a second EP The Myth of Amadour: Odyssey of a High Desert Baladeer, and a debut album I Was Born in the Silver and I Died There Too, recorded at The Noise Floor (Gabriola Island, BC) alongside Jordan Koop (Orville Peck’s sound engineer for Dead of Night), with vocal production by Terry Ondang (Orville Peck), and at Just For the Record (Los Angeles, CA) with Grammy-nominated engineer Daniel Cullen (Khalid, Bebe Rexha, David Guetta). Additionally, they are creating orchestral arrangements for The Mapes Suite, a big band-inspired project in collaboration with Norwegian-Mexican composers Alan G. Frausto and Helena Maria Falk (Eminem, Michael Bublé, The Weeknd, Maggie Rogers, Kygo) with the 55-piece Panonnia Film Orchestra (Marc Teitler, Sheridan Tongue, Atti Pacsay) in Hungary.

Their critically acclaimed debut EP, Western Movie Dream, was recorded with sound engineer Nick Rosen (Diane Warren, Sofia Carson), capturing Amadour’s signature cinematic and emotional style.

Amadour has performed across the United States including at The Hotel Café and an upcoming show at The Viper Room, appearing with artists like Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, Jon Secada, Marie Monti, and Grammy-winning bassist Kevin O’Neal. Early in their career, Amadour collaborated with producers Mark Hudson (Aerosmith, Ringo Starr), Rudy Pérez (Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera), and David Frangioni (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne), and studied under Grammy-nominated producer Doug Fenske (Frank Ocean, Quincy Jones) while taking specialized songwriting and production courses at Westlake Recording Studios (Los Angeles, CA).

Fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian—and currently developing French—Amadour writes and sings across multiple languages, deepening the emotional resonance and global reach of their music.

Amadour is a proud member of SONA (Songwriters of North America) and BMI, and is actively developing their catalog for sync licensing across film, television, and new media.

“Two Hands Holding Me” (2022)

Lyrics and music by Amadour

Summer glows in the leaves of the green,

It’s you I love, golden hair by the sea.

Hazel eyes melt with changing light,

Our souls are meant to meet.

The sunshine with the breeze on my skin,

It’s you, my love. I see you smile.

Bronze face with your nose on my cheek.

Tell me it’s all a dream.

Two hands holding me.

Little houses steep on the hills,

The rise and fall of your chest,

Your eyes are closed, and I’m in my head,

Looking out from this unmade bed.

Hummingbirds on the trees,

Euphony of the Twin Peaks,

In my adolescent heart,

Across the bay,

the dreamer fully awake.

“Before Grapes Ripen” (2022)

Lyrics and music by Amadour

The season before grapes ripen,

His eyes make their way to my mouth.

And now the shadow of clouds on cursive pages.

You were so inviting, partially like a father,

We made love to the first of autumn.

Summoned from resplendent memory.

How I love you so.

The season before grapes ripen,

The tide rolls in and out,

And now the flicker of time on cursive pages.

“Western Movie Dream” (2022)

Lyrics and music by Amadour

We met at the museum,

Downtown on a block in our early twenties,

In the brisk cold of October, I felt you smile behind me

As we studied oil paintings in the warmth of being with you

My sun sign is Taurus, and my moon’s in Gemini,

I’m spinning like the Earth with clouds in the sky.

What I find attractive is the fire you ignite,

And I am haunted by the fact that I fell in love with you.

Realize you’re not just a moment in time

You are everywhere. You are everything to me.

Together we can make a better place, a sweeter time,

To be free, to be happy,

In my western movie dream.

We laid down in a yellow paint-brushed meadow,

I felt your hand on mine as we gazed across the blue.

Late for work again because I did not leave your side.

Convinced I would change your mind.

I am traveling across Spain sketching in a book

Every line I draw, I imagine our future outlook,

If the sea rises and the forest disappears,

Perhaps our love will change fate.

Night falls in my hotel, and I think of you.
